Featured Speakers:
Elaine Meyer, LMR Solutions

“Using Content Types to increase the value of your SharePoint Implementation”
A major improvement in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0), and MOSS 2007, over previous versions of SharePoint is the universal use of Content Types to categorize, and manage, information. Effective use of Content Types will greatly help an organization’s information architecture, and governance planning. This presentation will be a discussion of the use of Content Types, and the value of using Content Types to better manage enterprise information.
Ron Rohlfs, Neudesic, LLC

“SharePoint Site Columns and Content Types: Developer Tips and Tricks”
This discussion will cover techniques for developing custom Site Columns and Content Types. Demonstrations will include developing, and deploying custom Content Types as SharePoint Features. More advanced topics will be covered including the use of Content Types with Document Templates, InfoPath forms and automated Workflow.
The Southern California SharePoint User Group is created as a free resource for the purpose of exchanging ideas and information related to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, and related technologies. Our meetings cover topics on Microsoft Office in general, and SharePoint in particular, that are of interest to Application Developers, Business Information Workers and System Engineers.
In short, we encompass all aspects of Microsoft Office Server 2007. The group is run exclusively by volunteers. Our meetings are designed specifically to provide information that is of practical benefit to developers of any level of knowledge, from novice to expert. Each meeting is normally structured with two presentations for a greater variety of information. We also attempt to help with specific problems and questions outside of the main presentations in a one-on-one meeting with a knowledgeable volunteer.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month starting at 6:30 pm, and ending at 9:00 pm.
PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE BEFORE 7:00 PM!!! NO ONE will be allowed in after 7:00 PM!!!
ANNOUNCEMENT: Parking at the Microsoft San Diego Office is no longer free during Southern California SharePoint User Group meetings!
