Southern California SharePoint User Group June 2010 Meeting
The SoCal SPUG June 2010 meeting is about:
· SharePoint Designer 2010
Come see the new SharePoint Designer 2010, the “tool of choice for the rapid development of SharePoint applications”. Vastly improved over its predecessor, SharePoint Designer 2010 has a number of new features including a new user interface that emphasizes SharePoint objects, and artifacts. Key object information is presented in panes on the main display, and tools and commands are presented in the Ribbon. You can manage Content Types, including Document Templates, Properties and ID values. InfoPath 2010, and Visio 2010, integrate with the Form design, and Workflow building tools. SharePoint Designer 2010 lets you connect to external data through the Business Connectivity Services, and create Lists from the External Content Type. Read/Write solutions to back-end data sources are far easier to build. SharePoint Solution Packages (.wsp files) files can now be created with SharePoint Designer 2010 allowing greater portability of customizations than was previously available.

The Southern California SharePoint User Group is created as a free resource for the purpose of exchanging ideas and information related to SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and related technologies. Our meetings cover topics on Microsoft Office in general, and SharePoint in particular, that are of interest to Application Developers, Business Information Workers and System Engineers.
In short, we encompass all aspects of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. The group is run exclusively by volunteers. Our meetings are designed specifically to provide information that is of practical benefit to developers of any level of knowledge, from novice to expert. Each meeting is normally structured with two presentations for a greater variety of information. We also attempt to help with specific problems and questions outside of the main presentations in a one-on-one meeting with a knowledgeable volunteer.
